Often, they are operating at the edge of technology, research, or new forms of thinking – surrounded by complexity, sensing potential, but not yet able to see the wider system they could be part of.

I work in places where something important is happening, but not yet fully understood.
Environments filled with intelligence, research, and ambition – where people are building the future, but the broader picture is still forming.

I enter those systems and listen.
Not just to what is being said, but to what is implied, fragmented, and what is missing.

I begin to map what’s there.

I trace connections across disciplines, surface unseen possibilities, and shift the work from a contained activity into part of a wider system.

I shape that understanding into pathways others can follow and build upon.

My role is not to produce or manage, but to think – to make sense of complexity, and to translate it into forms that others can recognise and build upon.

What emerges is not just clearer thinking, but new pathways:
for collaboration, for application, and for meaning.

FOUNDATIONS

David Gagliardi’s work began in music and expanded across art, design, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Since his first commission in 2002 for BBC television, he has composed across multiple forms and genres, including over 30 placements on USA television. He is also a songwriter and recording artist, best known for the internationally recognised post-rock band LAURA.

Alongside his creative practice, David held senior roles in arts organisations including Hamilton Performing Arts Centre and Arena Theatre Company, working across programming, marketing, touring, and major events.

These experiences laid the foundation for his current approach – working across disciplines, connecting people and ideas, and designing systems that bring creative, cultural, and organisational goals into alignment.
